The Abyss, as the title refers, is a gigantic round cavity on an island that houses a system of tunnels and caves, much of it unexplored, inhabited by fantastic creatures and filled with relics of unknown origin. Countless adventurers have ventured into the Abyss to solve its mysteries, but many of them never returned. Not only because of the boundless and wild flora and fauna that emerges in every corner of the cavities, which becomes more hostile and unpredictable the deeper you go, but also because of the so-called Curse of the Abyss, a mysterious disease that affects those who want to return when they are already too deep. The protagonist of the story is Riko, a girl who was orphaned when Lyza the Annihilator, a renowned White Whistle (a rank held by the most legendary of these explorers) disappeared in the depths of the Abyss.
